Baptism
Baptism is the first Sacrament a new Christian receives. Whether an adult or child, it serves as the gateway to a deeper relationship with Christ.

Parents of a child to be Baptized are asked to attend a class to review the ritual and understand their responsibilities, participate in discussions with other families about baptism and to discuss ways to be an active Catholic. These classes are usually held 5 times a year. It is encouraged that parents attend at least 6 weeks prior to the scheduled baptism.

*Please note: at this time, regularly scheduled classes are not being held. However, this does not mean that you cannot have your child baptized. Please contact Amanuel Malik by email at amanuel.malik@dor.org to make arrangements.

Currently, baptisms are being held after the 4:00 Saturday Mass or after the 10:30 am Sunday Mass.
If you are not a registered parishioner at St. Charles you are still welcome to have your child baptized here, however it is necessary to have permission from the parish you are registered in.
When choosing Godparents, please be sure that BOTH Godparents are at least 16 years of age, have been baptized and at least ONE Godparent has received the Sacrament of Confirmation.
